If you want to learn to speak English in Ambleside then our English classes for speakers of other languages run twice a week based at Ambleside Library.
English Lessons include practice in conversation, grammar, vocabulary, listening skills, reading and writing, as well as lots of help for those living, working or studying in the Lake District.
When are the Learn English classes?
Currently: (July 10th 2020 – Aug 20th 2020)

Here at Learning Plus we teach you to speak English from Elementary Level to Intermediate Level, but all levels and ages are welcome.

Our Learn English lessons are designed around the needs and interests of the students who help to decide the course content. Last term popular topics requested by students included: ‘English for interviews’; applying for a job’; ‘making an appointment by telephone’; ‘calling about a repair’; ‘chatting with colleagues’ etc.
We can also provide help for people studying towards an ESOL qualification.
Learning English in Ambleside is friendly and relaxed and we even provide tea and biscuits. A few times a year there is also the chance to join us on a trip to local museums and other tourist attractions.
At Learning Plus we understand that our students often have demanding work or study commitments, which means that they may not be able to attend every class. For this reason every lesson is an independent and free-standing unit, and students can drop in when they are able to. This means that students are also able to start at any time during the term.
Lessons cost £2.00 per class or £20.00 for the whole term.
